Hi guys,
welcome to my first entry in this „schuelerblog“. Today I want to share my experiences about leisure clubs. Especially about my last year at the fire brigade in my home village Dürnrohr.
Before I joined the fire brigade last year in August, something was missing in my life. Meeting my friends in IRL got difficult the past years because we joined different schools with various timetables. Of course we are facetiming a lot, but it isn’t the same.
In August last year the new commander of the fire brigade Dürnrohr asked me and some other boys from the town, if we would like to join the team. It was an easy decision for me because my father is already a member since around 40 years. Even before I joined the fire brigade I knew the most members very well because some of them got close friends with my dad.
The aspect meeting companions every Monday in a usefull way, changed my freetime in a more productive lifestyle. I am able to learn a lot about fire service and even about life. The elder members share their experience with me. In an organisation where you need different special trainings to get the licence to do certain jobs, it is a lot of fun to learn and get to know your collegues better.
All in all, as an advice for you I can only recommend joining any organisation of your choice. I am really glad that I took this huge step in life.
Best,
Christopher
